It's 2007: Happy New Year!

Welcome back to the Monday Computer/Learning Circle Class after the holiday break!

I spent Xmas Eve at my sister's house with relatives. On Xmas Day, I made a turkey dinner for our family. My husband and I went to Minneapolis and spent New Year's Day with his family. On New Year's Day, I resolved to eat less and exercise more in order to lose weight. Another resolution I made was to start lifting weights again so that I will be stronger.

How did you spend the time over the holidays? Did you make any New Year's resolutions?

I hope everyone enjoyed the Thanksgiving holiday. I was thankful that I was able to spend Thankgiving Day with my husband, brother, sister, niece and her family. The traditional Thanksgiving dinner with all of the trimmings was served at our house. My husband helped me cook the meal. My sister and niece also brought some of the food. I was also thankful that we were able to spend some time with my husband's family on Saturday. We visited my brother-in-law who is a patient in the Medical ICU at a Twin Cities hospital.

What did you do and what were you thankful for during the Thanksgiving holiday?

Welcome back to the Monday Computer/Learning Circle class!

One of our Learning Circle activities this year will be learning how to use blogs. During the Learning Circle, write a paragraph about something you enjoyed doing last summer. Answer the following questions as you are completing this writing exercise:

Who was involved in the activity that you enjoyed doing?

What was the activity that you enjoyed?

Where did it take place?

When did it happen?

Why did you do it?

Your original writing will be posted on your own page on the Alexandria Literacy Project (ALP) web site and published in the ALP's Student Scene newsletter.
